The ladder itself was fairly good quality, but the particle board door was smashed in. Sending such a large heavy object should require much better packaging to protect the item. The box was in such bad shape that it barely hung together when I returned it. I don't know how the packaging could be so poor as to end up in such a beat up state. It also looked as if the item may have been a return since the box was already open when it arrived.
