We purchased 3 of these fans and all 3 arrived in their stock boxes with no padding or shipping wrap. All 3 fans were dented so badly from improper packing that they arrived inoperable. In addition, the quality of the fans is very poor compared to basic models sold at Home Depot or Lowes. I would not advise buying these online but go to your local home improvement store.

Amazon must be listening, since the packaging on my fan was superb - the fan arrived double-boxed and surrounded by packing paper - not a dent or scratch on the fan, and the inner box was completely unmarked. Prime got it here in 2 days, quick and professional. Easy installation, since I just used the fan motor/blades and the new galvanized steel dome to replace the same parts in my current Ventamatic 3.4 amp fan housing which was installed in 2001 - the fan motor had quit working, and the ABS dome had started cracking around the mounting flanges. To fix the issues, I just detached the wiring for the old fan from inside the attic, then went up on the roof, unbolted the old dome, unbolted the old motor, installed the new motor/blades and dome, went back inside and re-connected the wiring, and its now humming away, all without having to mess with the roofing, nails, shingles or tar.

The first unit came so damaged from shipping it could not be used. Amazon was great in sending a new unit at no cost to me, as well as giving me a shipping label to return the bad one. The second unit was slightly dented on the flange but easy to fix and is now installed. Since the fan is all steel with a galvanized dome, it dents very easily and needs to be packed better for shipping.This will be my third attic fan in 4 years. I bought this brand for the PSC style motor and the limited lifetime warranty. Only time will tell if this one holds up.
