4"So Who Knew!
By Adriaan N. Roggeveen
WHile I am still pondering a "acoustic upgrade" to my recording space; I have found the SE Electronics..."Instrument Reflexion Filter 2" to be as big an assist as its bigger brother on the Condenser recording mic. The mounting hardware might have been improved by using a "ball-socket" mount like mic stands use, but after a bit of re-arrangement I managed to get the "screw on to the stand" bracket set. The isolation is excellent. The only other challenge is really not with the filter. Since this type of device takes up room near the performer they almosst demand that the performer stand up. However, with a little imagination and planning I am able to make accommodation. It is a quick, mobile, and rugged fix. Surely it is less than the Thousands I will have to spend to do the whole room, Then I will be stuck in the room. BTW I play acoustic guitar and banjo. wo/sound enhancement on the instrument. I use a Shure 137 Condenser mic on the RF-2.
