I have a furnace which had a honeywell SV9500 what was operating sporadically. I found a diagnostic flowchart on the web that helped me determine that the problem was the gas valve. After looking around for do it yourself information on replacing this and not finding much, I decided to give it a try. The valve was an exact fit, and was very easy to replace. The hardest part was removing the old valve. It was really on there tight. The new valve fires up perfectly every time. Thank you. If you are going to do this yourself. Make sure you research how to properly work with black iron pipe and pipe dope. Your furnace should be serviced to make sure the gas pressure is set properly, and that you don't have high carbon monoxide levels. It's best to be safe.
