This is a decent ladder. Light and strong, but I am having a hard time equating a $100 price tag to this ladder. This is a simple straight ladder, no extension, no folding, etc. I don't know, maybe the cost of aluminum has risen that much.I live in Arizona and Amazon just started to collect sales tax this year, so all my Amazon purchases now are more costly. In the past, I have found Amazon to have the most competitive pricing, but now I will do more comparison shopping since the sales tax (6.6% on this purchase) may now put Amazon out of the running. There are still many online companies that offer free shipping and no sales tax. Amazon has two huge distribution centers in the Phoenix area and employ thousands here. Our AZ State legislators decided to force Amazon to collect sales tax here, and if I were Amazon I would have said OK, but we will be moving our operations to a tax-friendly state. Maybe Amazon will do that sometime in the future. I hate politicians.I know that my Amazon purchases will be a lot lower this year due to the increased taxes, and I'm sure others here in AZ will be in the same boat.

I needed a shorter light weight ladder to take to the roof of my family room in order to clean the flue on our wood burning stove. This ladder is the perfect tool for the job, both light weight and sturdy.
