The delivery was quick and the unit looked really good. But when we unpacked it the whole side was not spot welded and so didn't hold together. So I returned it for credit. There was no problem with this and a tag was even sent to pick it up. It could have been damaged in shipping, I don't know but didn't want to have to find someone to weld it to make it usable, so have no idea how it WOULD have worked if I'd gotten it in usable condition.

I bought this item in January 2012 and waited to review it beyond my initial impressions. It is advertised as 2-speed, but it's not. In the end, I wanted a single speed unit; confirmed with Air King.I use this fan in a closet that's used for my NW equipment/home server. Since several of the components get warm and are fan cooled, I installed the Air King fan in that closet and exhaust the hot air in to the intake duct of my home AC. Works great. I also installed an in-line thermostat in the closet that is designed for attic fans. It works "ok." The fan essentially runs all the time - even when the temp is below the level it's set at. Since it doesn't draw much power, it's probably best. According to Air King, the fan is designed to run continuously anyway.It works great, it's very quite (it's not as loud as the fan in my computer).One thing to note for anyone considering a similar application. I purchased the 2-speed version initially in an effort to use less energy when the temp in the closet was cooler and full fan speed wasn't necessary. However, I couldn't find a thermostat that would support that type of application (other than a commercial type that was much more expensive and complex than my home application required (or that my budget allowed). I wanted to turn the fan on at one threshold, and switch to the higher speed when the temp went above a higher threshold. Air King told me that the fan isn't designed for that type of control anyway. When I returned the 2-speed version of the fan, Amazon took it back; no questions asked.
